During the visit, Colonel Vakondios was briefed on the project’s operational objectives, technological architecture and key innovation modules supporting advanced indirect fire support operations and simulation-driven training environments.
Particular emphasis was placed on the role of the Forward Observer and the way VICTORIOUS aims to optimise operational effectiveness, situational awareness and decision-making during indirect fire support missions.
Given Colonel Vakondios’ professional background and close association with Hellenic Army artillery units, the discussions reflected a strong operational understanding of the project’s practical value and potential operational impact.
The VICTORIOUS consortium highly appreciated the constructive exchange and HCDI’s continued interest in innovative defence technologies contributing to the enhancement of operational capabilities and the strengthening of both the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base and the Hellenic defence ecosystem.
The project partners actively engage with operational end users like the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence and HCDI, ensuring that the project’s technological objectives align with the evolving operational requirements and battlefield realities of today.
